Marc Adler, owner of Why Not Marketing, is collecting used cell phones to benefit the Buffalo Zoo.
Adler is an adjunct lecturer at both the University at Buffalo and Daemen College. He has been collecting used cell phones through class projects and donating them for more than seven years. Currently, the cell phones collected are run through the ECO-CELL program, with proceeds benefitting the Buffalo Zoo. In the past, the donated cell phones have also benefitted veteran’s organizations.
ECO-CELL is a no-landfill recycling program that collects, refurbishes and resells newer cell phones, and recycles older, no longer usable models. All components of the phones are utilized including the circuit boards, plastic parts and cords. Cell phones are all recycled through R2\BAN and or ISO 14001 certified companies. In addition to cell phones, ECO-CELL also accepts iPods, iPads, tablets, adapters, chargers, earbuds and MP3 players. To learn more about ECO-CELL visit www.eco-cell.com.
Adler is a seasoned industry professional who in addition to running his business, has served as an adjunct lecturer for over two decades. Although not a Western New York native, he is well vested in the Buffalo community, having served on board positions with the Buffalo Zoo as well as on various boards with the University at Buffalo.
